As the leaves outside our window turn to brilliant hues of orange and red, it's the perfect time to imagine how the changing seasons will transform the landscapes of Colorado Rail Game. While seasonal changes won't be a feature in the initial release, we've been experimenting with concept art to see how beautiful the journey could become—and the results look incredible!
This feature isn't just about a change in color palette; it’s about altering the entire atmosphere of your rail journey, offering a new reason to re-explore the same routes year after year.
Summer brings clear skies, vibrant green mountains, and the perfect conditions for a journey through the high country. Expect long daylight hours and the warmth of the sun reflecting off the metal rails.
Perhaps the most dramatic change, Fall coats the landscape in a breathtaking array of warm colors. The aspens turn bright gold, the air looks crisp, and the sun casts long, amber shadows across the plains and valleys.
Winter completely transforms the terrain into a quiet, monochrome spectacle. The tracks are dusted with snow, the train cars look cozy against the backdrop of white, and the environment takes on a silent, serene beauty.
Spring marks the slow thaw, bringing the first signs of green back to the valleys. The atmosphere is often misty and dynamic, with fresh water flowing and the promise of a new, growing season ahead.
The ability to travel through these distinct seasonal environments is a feature we are incredibly passionate about. While Season Changes will not happen in the game just yet, these visual experiments confirm that the feature looks great and will significantly enhance the immersion and replayability of the Colorado Rail Game experience in a future update.
